Mahindra Xylo is going to have a tough competition from none other than a vehicle from Ashok Leyland. Nissan recently launched Nissan Evalia and now the company is all set to launch its next in line but with partner Ashok Leyland. The vehicle that is going to be on Indian roads is Ashok Leyland Stile which we saw at New Delhi at Auto Expo 2012.
Nissan Evalia is primarily a family car whereas Ashok Leyland Stile is going to target the commercial sector. 7 people could comfortably be seated into the new stile and the vehicle will be powered by 1.5 liter diesel engine that is going to give out 130bhp of power, the same engine which powers Evalia. The power of the engine might be reduced to increase the fuel efficiency. The engine is going to give better performance to the Stile even on the urban roads and traffic. The vehicle is going to have a sliding door with which the rear seats could be accessed. The vehicle is also expected to have CNG variant but that would be launched a bit later.
The car could be termed as an extended version of Maruti Omni from a glance which we have been seeing since decades due to its sliding doors. Though, other than the door there is not much similarity. The car is going to be launched in both passenger and commercial version though the later might not be launched soon.
If you go by the looks then Stile is far better looking car than its twin Evalia. Now how people are going to look at a car from the famous truck manufacturer is yet to be seen.
Stile will be priced at nearly Rs. 7.5 lakh on its launch which is less then Mahindra Xylo.
