Buy this Bike for its Built Quality and Handling. You might not like this bike for its looks so if you are not that particular about the looks then go for it. The other drawback for this bike is that its engine is basic.
Honda CB Shine is the highest selling bike for the motorcycle maker and January 2015 data proves that. 62,176 units were sold in this month and it is the 4th highest selling bike in India. When it comes to 125cc bikes it is the best and holds numero uno position.
Honda CB Shine has been one of the successful launches of the Japanese auto maker Honda Motor Company. Honda’s attempt to come up with a bike that complies with the new emission norms was shown in the form of the new Honda CB Shine.
Engine
Honda CB Shine is equipped with an efficient 124.7 cc 4 stroke OHC SL engine that can generate the whopping 10.6 PS of maximum power at 7500 rpm. The peak torque it can generate is at 11 Nm at 5500 rpm. The fuel tank can carry 11 liters of the fuel. The bike can go from 0 – 60kmph in under 6 seconds with a top speed of 93kmph.
Design
Graphics on the tank and 3d emblem looks good. The visor above the headlight is one of its kind and gives the bike a unique look. Among the available features the bike offers analogue speedometer and analogue fuel gauge. All the basic modern amenities are available in the bike. You would find it a comfortable ride when you use the bike. Among many other such features, Honda CB Shine is also available in 5 color options which are vibrant blue metallic, rebel red metallic, black with gray stripes and geny gray metallic, black with blue stripes. The Honda CB Shine is available for the ex showroom price of around INR 51,000 for the base model.
Performance
Coming to the ride quality, Honda CB Shine offers the best in class driving experience. One would never find it with any shivering. The bike does not get the common vibrations when in motion. Even on the high speeds the bike remains under control and does a fairly good job when it comes to handling as well. As far as the safety features are concerned, it does the job with quite an elan. The front suspensions are telescopic fork type and the rear suspensions are 3 step spring loaded hydraulic shock absorber suspensions.
Mileage
The claimed mileage for the bike is 65kmpl which is for ideal condition. For real world the bike gives an average of 53-55kmpl on city roads and nearly 62kmpl on highways as per user data. Even if the bike gives an average of 58-60kmpl then that is good enough for a 125cc bike. Highly optimax engine fitted with HET technology helps bike to give superior fuel efficiency.

hello guys, i think u shift the 4th gear at 20-30km speed pls shift the 4 th gear after 30 like 32 is best for shine. who said shine is not good pick up, you just test on road after 60 km speed with other bikes.
40-45 km speed u get 70-72 km/lit
45-50 km speed u get 65-67 km / lit
50-60km speed u get 60-63 km / lit
60+ km speed u get 55 km / lit.
max speed 100
if u compare discover st 125, first 2 years discover st will give superb performance but 2 years the engine performance will reduce gradually. after 5 years u forgot that bike. becoz of twin spark. eg royal enfield -thunderbird 500 cc has twin spark that is only failure model in r.e company due to twin spark.
problem is rear tyre is very thin and head light….
Honda Shine is much better in mileage, prices and very comfortable to all daily commuters. Its my personal experience with Honda Shine.
Hi, i am Jagyenswar swain. I am totally unsatisfied with Honda CB Shine.I have bought a Honda CB Shine in 8th June 2012 & this is my experience that The fuel economy of the bike stands around 55 kmpl in the city and 60 kmpl on the highway. The original Engine of Honda Shine (1st Model)is totally changed in Honda CB Shine. That’s why it is not giving good Pick-up like the first model(Honda Shine). There are too much problems in shifting of Gears in Honda CB Shine. It is almost like shifting Gears In A Scooter.(Gears are not Properly shifting from one to another & makes abnormal sounds, that any one will guess the gears will break very soon.).
