2024 Street Glide ST Review
The fundamental difference between the Street Glide and Street Glide ST is that the special stands out from the standard with a higher-output Milwaukee-Eight 117 V-twin engine. Alongside vivid Black wheels, dash, fork, and extended saddlebags for stowing more cargo.
Born To Be Bikers
The Street Glide first came to dealers in 2006. Since then, it has consolidated its presence as a prominent Grand American Touring clan member. The 2024 H-D Street Glide ST has its technique set on seeing the country at a brisker pace than its counterparts.
Harley Davidson is still basking in the glow of its ‘King of the Baggers’ championship win last year and is celebrating that achievement with new models of ‘Sport Touring’ bikes.
And each one of these bikes takes a healthy dose of inspiration from the full-factory H-D Screamin’ Eagle race bikes. They come with a bevy of blackened-out components; alongside upgraded shocks, performance accessories, and the all-powerful 117ci Milwaukee-Eight engine.
Unleash The Beast
The motorcycle is fitted with Milwaukee-Eight 117ci V-twin engine. It brings along dyno-boosting components such as a high-performance cam, the Screamin’ Eagle Heavy Breather intake, and a fine-tuned exhaust system that profoundly works with 127 ft-lbs of torque at an impressively low 3750 rpm. It is meant to give you access to all that low-end shove on a whim.
The Street Glide ST is smooth, sophisticated, and as brawny as can be. The 1920cc Milwaukee-Eight engine offers great fueling throughout the rev range. And it does not throw around excessive heat while baking in solitary infertile terrain.
Maximum Road Control
The robust six-speed Cruise Drive gearbox is the status quo with the M8 powerplant. It slips the clutch of the Street Glide ST that requires a hearty pull. Shifting is sturdy and perfectly matches the massive persona of the V-twin.
Reducing wheel-hop and maintaining control while aggressively downshifting is well managed by Drag-Torque Slip-Control, part of the optional Reflex Defensive Rider System.
The Street Glide ST takes bagger’s handling in a sportier order. However, the SG has always impressed with its sheer stability by using a wide 64-inch wheelbase and moderate 26-degree rake. At the same time, the fork angle kicks out another 3.25 degrees. These calculations assure to result in a firm-footed chassis.
Take A Long Ride
The improvised shocks offer three inches of suspension travel. This is nearly an inch more than the Street Glide and Street Glide Special variants. In addition, they perfectly raise the rear to help the ST tip into corners with a bit more pep.
Showa takes good care of suspension duties in the Street Glide. The non-adjustable Dual Bending Valve fork returns to the fold to fine-tune the suspenders. The Showa fork nicely soaks up hits and helps the SG hold its line.
The upgraded shocks in the 2024 SG ST are a marked improvement. As a result, larger bumps and bruises are dealt with better with lesser travel. But the damping can still be harsh, especially when riding over washboard asphalt.
Set Your Destination & Have Fun
The bags are well kept in the 2024 H-D Street Glide ST. They look trim while increasing lean. The maximum lean angle values have stayed the same from earlier versions. They still are 32 degrees on the right and 31 on the left. Moreover, the one-touch latching bags offer a roomy 2.3 cubic feet of storage.
The looks come as good as comfort, if not better. The appearance of the new Street Glide ST with a fork-mounted classic-batwing fairing features a slip-stream vent to limit head-buffeting alongside a low-profile dark windshield.
